Rika’s Advice
SET ASIDE FUNDS FOR A VALUED INVESTMENT
- What would that be worth to you?
- How would that positively affect your business and your profitability?
- Keep that value in mind as you determine how much you’re willing to invest in an image specialist.
Outfits that Bring Out the Best in You!
- Trying to be someone that you are not by dressing overly sexy or too young for your age is out!
- What looks sexy on a 20 year old does not really match a woman in her 40is and up. Just be yourself.
Accentuate the positive: (Pick an outfit that plays up your best assets).
- A top or dress that has long, sheer sleeves is a great way to camouflage untrimmed arms.
- A pair of pants that is fuller on the bottom is a great way to balance out round hips.
- Wearing pants or skirts at the lower hip is more flattering for rounder hips.
For Television Appearances:
ACCESSORIZING
- Wearing too much jewelry can be an overwhelming sight.
- Simplicity is the key and I always recommend that if you want to wear a necklace not to wear
earrings with it and vice versa. - If you want to wear a bracelet make sure it goes with the necklace or the earrings you are wearing.
(That does not mean they have to match but that they are of the same period and in the same genre.) - It is too confusing for the eyes and most of the time it is too busy with the clothes we’re wearing.
Hair and Make-Up
- When it comes to Hair have a very clean look and don’t make it up too big, for everything on
the television screen looks 30% bigger. - When waring Makeup have a very clean and sophisticated look.
- The eyes are good if you make them stronger than your every day look but make sure your lips
are done in a natural color and just a hint of shine for that youthful look we want.Be comfortable
- Most of all you don’t want to be tugging at your outfit and convey all sorts of messages – like insecurity and doubt.
- You want to look secure and confident of your self and in what you are wearing.
- Don’t try too hard
! Trying to convey your career or your lifestyle through your outfit can be over doing it.
(You don’t need to wear a pinstripe skirt suit to convey you’re a corporate attorney or wear a pair of jeans and a flannel shirt to show that you raise horses).
Go for who you feel you are. We are not our jobs.
